Web development classes for teens ages 13 to 16 · HTML, CSS and JavaScript · Live online · Beginners welcome

From browsing websites to building one.

Help your teen create a website that reflects their interests. They’ll learn how HTML, CSS and JavaScript work together, then work towards publishing an interactive project they can demonstrate.

A website with something of their own.

A personal portfolio or hobby site starts with a simple page. Add a layout, customise the design and introduce an interactive feature, such as a quiz, a to-do list or a project filter.

What they’ll work towards

The goal is to finish with a personal website published online, with at least one interactive feature, that they can show for school, college applications or future opportunities, and to explain how it works in their own words.

Features and scope adapt to each learner’s experience and progress.

Understand what happens behind the page.

Your teen will practise:

  • Organising content

Using HTML to give a page structure.

  • Designing a layout

Using CSS to make it look good on phones and computers.

  • Adding interaction

Using JavaScript to respond to what a visitor does.

  • Testing and publishing

Checking their work and putting it online.

Plan it. Build it. Bring it online.

Start with the purpose of the website, build its structure and appearance, then add an interactive feature. Finish by testing, improving and presenting the project.

No paid tools needed

Everything we use, including publishing, is free. Some services, such as GitHub and most hosting platforms, require users to be 13 or older, which fits this programme’s age range. We’ll walk you through setting up any accounts.

What parents say

“Marcus was teaching himself but hitting walls constantly. Having a real developer guide him made all the difference. He’s now talking about majoring in computer science.”

Parent of Marcus, age 16, one-to-one web development

Who teaches your child

Classes are led by a working software developer: someone who builds web applications, mobile apps and business systems for clients, and who has experience teaching young learners. That means your child learns how real developers think, test and solve problems, not just how to follow a script.

Your child’s instructor is either Denoms Digital Hub’s founder or a developer from our team. You’ll meet them in the free trial class before you decide anything.

Try a free class first

One free, one-hour online class, privately or with a group. In the trial your child will:

  1. Meet their instructor.

  2. Build something small together.

  3. Leave with a programme recommendation based on how they got on.

No payment and no obligation. If they enjoy it, we’ll talk about programme options. If not, no hard feelings.

Reserving a place: tell us your availability and we’ll suggest times. When you’re ready to continue, we’ll send payment instructions. Payment reserves the space, then we confirm placement and scheduling.
